It contains the following:

mmbase-<version>.<date>.zip                 Todays distro (containing a mmbase web application configured for hsql database)
mmbase-<version>.<date>-<project>.zip       Several applications, which can be upgraded seperatedly (with some luck)
dtd                                         The dtd's unpacked from the source directory
api                                         API-documentation
mmdocs                                      Other documentation (also in distro)
nightly-build.xml                           Used to generate all this with ant. You can download only this and redo everything locally (you need jdk 1.4, ant 1.5, cvs, internet-connection, more?)
